From the Ashes: A Personal Perspective on the Palisades Fire
January 2025 began with an unexpected and deeply personal disruption for Turner Law Firm founder Keith Turner. The Palisades fire, which swept through the community with little warning, left a trail of destruction—including Keith’s longtime home.
As a decades-long resident of the Palisades and an active member of its community, Keith’s connection to the area runs deep. The fire forced him to relocate not once, but seven times, before finally settling in Ojai. While the transition has been challenging, it has also offered a new perspective—one that Keith knows all too well from the other side of the table.
A Familiar Battle, This Time Personal
For over 35 years, Keith has represented both major insurance companies and countless insureds in complex property damage claims. From the aftermath of the Northridge Earthquake to hundreds of mold-related cases, he’s seen nearly every scenario imaginable. Now, he finds himself navigating the same process he’s helped so many clients through: dealing with insurers over the scope and cost of repairs.
“It’s a strange feeling,” Keith shared. “I’ve spent my career advocating for others in these situations. Now I’m living it.”
Experience That Matters
Keith’s firsthand experience with the Palisades fire only deepens his understanding of what clients face during times of loss and uncertainty. It’s a reminder that behind every claim is a story, a family, and a future to rebuild.
As Turner Law Firm continues to support clients through their own recovery journeys, Keith’s personal experience reinforces the firm’s mission: to combine legal expertise with empathy, resilience, and unwavering advocacy.
